Thailand 90 Day Report Guide for Foreigners
What is the 90-Day Report in Thailand?
The 90-day report is a requirement for foreigners who stay in Thailand for more than 90 consecutive days. Foreign nationals must report their current residential address to the Thai Immigration Bureau.
This notification is submitted using Form TM47.
It is important to understand that the 90-day report is not a visa extension. It only confirms your address while staying in Thailand.
Who Must Submit the 90-Day Report?
Most foreigners staying long-term in Thailand must report every 90 days, including those with:
- Business or work visas
- Retirement visas
- Marriage visas
- Education visas
- Other long-term visas
Tourists staying less than 90 days normally do not need to submit the report.
When Do You Need to Report?
You must submit your report every 90 days from your last entry or last report date.
Immigration allows a reporting window:
- 15 days before the due date
- 7 days after the due date
If you leave Thailand, the 90-day count starts again when you re-enter the country.
How to Submit the 90-Day Report
Foreigners can submit the report in several ways:
1. Online Reporting
Submit through the Thai Immigration website.
2. In Person
Visit the Immigration Office responsible for your area.
3. By Mail
Send documents to Immigration by registered mail.
4. Through a Representative
A friend, family member, or visa agent may report on your behalf.
Penalty for Late Reporting
If you fail to report on time, you may receive a fine of around 2,000 THB.
Therefore, it is recommended to keep track of your reporting date and submit early.
